3 unmissable resorts at Lake Garda

3 unmissable resorts at Lake Garda

From north to south, the largest lake in Italy never ceases to fascinate its visitors. A perfect trip to observe the landscape changing kilometre after kilometre is the tour of Lake Garda in search of museums, castles, restaurants, attractions for children and views to capture with your smartphone.

If you have chosen Lake Garda for your next trip, buckle up and discover three resorts in this immense lake which will offer you outdoor sports in any season, mild climate and breathtaking views of green mountains and blue waters.

Of course, the whle Lake Garda. The villages further south, without large mountains, seem to be places in the southernmost part of the Belpaese. In the north the high peaks that embrace the lake make it look like a Norwegian fjord.

Precisely this unique landscape makes three villages in the northernmost part of the lake, deserve a much longer visit. Let’s see what they are:

1- Riva del Garda. They call it the “pearl” of the lake and it is not difficult to understand why. At the foot of the Dolomites of Brenta, Riva is kissed by a Mediterranean climate even though it is part of the Trentino region. Its constant and regular winds make it the capital of the sports where they are protagonists together with the other resort, Torbole – windsurfing and sailing. The paths on the mountains are a paradise for hikers, both on foot and by mountain bike. Its symbols are splendid: the Apponale Tower, the Bastion and the Rocca di Riva.

2- Torbole sul Garda. Torbole is a jewel to visit, a fairytale old village with kilometres of beaches, super scenic paths, restaurants on the lake for intimate dinners and the scent of the Mediterranean – there are plenty of lemons and centuries-old olive trees. Have you prepared your camera?

3- Limone sul Garda. A splendid and characteristic village at Lake Garda. As the name suggests, lemons are the protagonists! Famous for its ancient lemon groves, its precious extra virgin olive oil and for its longevity – it seems that there is a gene that distinguishes the population -, this open-air “postcard” will amaze us with its narrow, winding streets, historic shops and relaxing walks.

Actually the whole Lake Garda is to be discovered and visited slowly. The hectic life is not at home. Relaxation is the watchword for a trip around here together to live in the open air and enjoy a holiday among sport, good food and beauty.

Are you already looking for a hotel in one of these places?
